TiE Udaipur - Timeline

TiE Rajasthan includes Udaipur Charter Members in May 2015. Udaipur Charter members meet for the first time on May 22, 2015 and sets up provisional Chapter Board.
TiE Udaipur gets formal approval from the TiE Global Board of Trustees at the Global Board meeting of May 5, 2016.
TiE Udaipur constituted as an Association of Persons on May 9, 2016.
First general meeting held on July 31, 2016, where the first Executive Committee (Board) and President are decided.
TiE Udaipur Society: constituted as body corporate under the societies regulations vide No.212/Udaipur/2016-17 dated March 22, 2017.

Context and Ecosystem

Udaipur is the business hub for south Rajasthan with its proximity to districts of Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Banswara, Dungarpur, Sirohi, Bhilwara and Pratapgarh. The City of Lakes is not only endowed with rich resource reserves, skilled labor and entrepreneur skills but also rich business and academic community.

Entrepreneurship in Udaipur has evolved through decades. With the established tradition of entrepreneurship and risk-taking, Udaipur is the home for many prominent businesses. Key sectors include tourism, minerals, electronics and IT. Burgeoning start-up community in a variety of fields is also

The current state of entrepreneurship in Udaipur is a mixed bag. On the one hand, there is development and promotion by academic institutions/ universities (IIM-U, CTAE, and SPSU) and incubation facilities under development. On the other hand, funding and investing still largely remains unorganized. There is a clear need for development of entrepreneurial eco-system with focus on innovation.
